I'm sure you have been bullied a couple billion times. You also have been wishing of growing up even an inch taller. Those negativity in your mind should now turn to positivity. Fight!
Midget is different from dwarf. Midget refers to a person who is short but the body is normally proportional. Dwarf is simply the opposite of that. 5'1 below is considered midget. However, calling a person "midget" is much more offensive than calling him or her "little" or "short."
Being short or midget does not make you any less as a person. It does not make you unworthy of love. It is your imperfection that you must learn to love and accept. It is something that makes you a true and a beautiful person. It is awesome to be different from others. That makes you unique.
Perks? There a a lot in the rat race of survival in this world.
When you play hide and seek, it is very easy to hide even just inside a cabinet, under a table or bed. Being short makes you the cutest among the group. Being short is also being able to easily move. At a crowded place such as concert, you can go to the frontrow, usually unnoticed. You are easily remembered by people because you are the cute and tiny one. You can shop at children's store and can actually save tons of money. You are less prone in some sickness too.
As an advocate, I advice you to tell people not to call you a midget instead "petite." Petite is being short and having a small, trim and attractive figure. It's better, right?
People may underestimate you. People may tease you. People may say anything. But whatever happens, you are definitely a legal midget. Haha! You have the right to be respected. Stay positive! Dream big and stand tall.
